II. Web Analysis
1. Use of the web analytics technology "Google Analytics"
If you have given your consent, we will use the web analytics technology "Google Analytics" using cookies.
Web analytics enables us to collect and analyse data on user activity on our website, including interactions with embedded videos. We use this information to improve our website and better achieve our goals (e.g., increasing page and video views).
When you visit our website, Google Analytics collects information about your use and stores it in a device-related profile. Your device is assigned a unique ID linked to this profile. This ID is stored in cookies (Section C) on your device. During your visit, your device can be recognised using this ID.
Such an association can be made not only via the ID but also via a link to your account with the respective provider (e.g., your Google account if you have enabled personalised advertising there). In this way, actions you have performed with different devices can also be attributed to you as a unique user and included in aggregated reports on our users' browsing behaviour.
Even without your consent, Google Analytics is used only to analyse website traffic. This lets us identify the origin of visitors who have not consented (country, region, and, if applicable, city) and determine which pages are viewed and how often. No cookies are used, and no profiles are created, so it is not possible to identify whether different page views were made by the same or different people. Google Analytics uses this information to model visitors' behaviour based on historical data.
More detailed information can be found below:
1.1. Information on the personal data processed
| Categories of personal data processed | Personal data contained in the categories | Sources of the data | Obligation of the data subject to provide the data | Duration of storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Web analytics HTTP data | Log data that is generated for technical reasons when using the web analytics tool employed on our website via the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (Secure) (HTTP(S)): This includes the IP address, the type and version of your internet browser, the operating system used, the website accessed, the website visited before visiting our website (referrer URL), and the date and time of the visit. | Users of our website | Providing this data is neither a legal nor a contractual obligation, nor is it a prerequisite for entering into a contract. The data subject is under no obligation to provide the data. If the data is not provided, we cannot perform web analytics. | IP anonymization is activated on our website for the use of the web analytics tool. This means that, for technical reasons, the IP address transmitted via the browser is anonymized before being stored by shortening the IP address (by deleting the last octet of the IP address). Furthermore, we only process the log data temporarily for the duration of your visit to our website. |
| Device data for web analytics | Data assigned to your device by the web analytics tool used on our website includes a randomly generated unique ID to (re)identify your device. It also contains certain parameters relevant for web analytics. This data is stored in cookies on your device (section C) and can be read when you visit our website. | Users of our website | Providing this data is neither a legal nor a contractual obligation, nor is it a prerequisite for entering into a contract. The data subject is under no obligation to provide the data. If the data is not provided, we cannot perform web analytics. | We store the unique ID for the duration of your consent. We process parameters relevant for web analytics only temporarily, for the duration of your visit to our website. We delete this data if you withdraw your consent. (Information on the duration of cookies stored on your device can be found in section C. III.) |
| Web analytics profile data | Data generated by the web analytics tool used, triggered by events on our website, and stored in a device-related profile: This includes data about the use of our website, in particular page visits, video views, frequency of visits, and time spent on the visited pages. This also includes the unique ID assigned to your device. | independently generated | - | We store the unique ID for the duration of your consent. We store information about the use of our website and the videos embedded on the website for a period of 14 months from the date of collection. We delete this data if you withdraw your consent. |
1.2. Details on the processing of personal data
| Purpose of the processing of personal data | Categories of personal data processed | Legal basis and, where applicable, legitimate interests | Receiver |
|---|---|---|---|
| Purpose of processing personal data Categories of processed personal data Legal basis and, where applicable, legitimate interests Recipients Web analytics (profile- and cookie-based): Web analytics enables the collection and evaluation of information about the activities of users of our website. When you visit our website, including embedded videos on the website, the web analytics tools we use collect information about your use of our website and store it in a device-related profile. In order to associate this information with your device, your device is assigned a unique ID that is linked to the device-related profile. This ID is stored in cookies (Section C) on your device. During your visit to our website, your device can be recognized there using the assigned ID. Such association can also be made via a link to your account with the respective provider (e.g., your Google account if you have activated personalized advertising there) instead of via the ID. In this way, actions that you perform with different devices can also be attributed to you as a unique user and included in aggregated reports on the browsing behaviour of our users. The aim of this analysis is to investigate where our website users come from, which areas of our website are visited, and how often and for how long each page/video and category is viewed. The information obtained is used to improve our website and better achieve its goals (e.g., increasing page and video views). | Web analytics HTTP data Device data for web analytics Web analytics profile data | Consent (if the GDPR is applicable: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a GDPR) | Website providers and providers of web analytics services |
| Simple website traffic analysis (without cookies and profiling): Even without your consent, a simple analysis of website traffic is performed. This allows us to anonymously identify the origin of visitors who have not given their consent (country, region, and, if applicable, city) and which pages are viewed and how often. No cookies are used, and no profile is created, so it is not possible to determine whether different page views were made by the same person or by different people. Our web analytics tools use this information to model the (presumed) behaviour of our visitors based on past experience. These modelled usage activities are added to the analyses of the consent-based, device-related profiles described above to obtain an (estimated) overall picture of our usage activities. We use the information obtained to improve our website and better achieve our website goals (e.g., increasing page and video views). This information may not be associated with you as a unique user and may be included in aggregated reports on our users' browsing behaviour. The aim of this analysis is to investigate where our website users come from, which areas of our website are visited, and how often and for how long each page/video and category is viewed. The information obtained is used to improve our website and better achieve its goals (e.g., increasing page and video views). | Web analytics HTTP data | Pursuit of legitimate interests within the framework of the balancing of interests (insofar as the GDPR is applicable: Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR): Our legitimate interest is the collection of certain basic information about access to our website for the anonymous measurement of our web audience. | Website providers and providers of web analytics services |
III. Use of the marketing technologies Google Ads and LinkedIn Insight Tag
If you have given your consent, we use marketing technologies from Google and LinkedIn on our website for conversion tracking and remarketing.
"Conversions" are user activities on our website that we track. "Conversion tracking" is a process that monitors what happens after you interact with our ads in search engines or on other websites. This allows us, for example, to see if you subsequently performed a specific action on our website.
When our ads are displayed to you in search engines or other websites, or when you interact with them, information may be collected (depending on your consent to the website operator) and stored in a device-related profile. A unique ID may be assigned to your device (depending on your consent) and linked to this profile. This ID may be stored in cookies (Section C) on your device. When you later visit our website, the information in these cookies can be read. This lets your device be recognised by the ID, allowing the retrieval of information about viewing our ads and the storage of further data. This enables us to collect information about your use of our website, especially the "conversions" you trigger.
Such an association can also be made by matching hashed contact information instead of the ID or via a link to your account with the respective provider (e.g., your Google account if you have enabled personalised advertising). This way, actions performed on different devices can be attributed to you as a unique user.
This allows us to monitor which keywords, ads, ad groups, and campaigns lead to the desired user actions. We can also track how our return on investment (ROI) is generated and make more informed decisions about our advertising spend. We can also automatically optimise our advertising campaigns to align with our business objectives.
"Remarketing" (or "retargeting") means we can specifically target users who have already interacted with our website again, e.g., with ads in search engines or on other websites that use the same advertising networks as us.
When you visit our website, information about your use is collected and stored in a device-related profile. Your device is assigned a unique ID linked to this profile. This ID is stored in cookies (Section C) on your device. If you later use the same device to access search engines or other websites in the same advertising network, your device can be recognised there using its ID (possibly subject to your consent) and the stored information about your website use, including assignment to specific advertising segments. This lets the remarketing tool provider show you targeted ads. An assignment can also be made by matching hashed contact information instead of the ID, or via a link to your account with the provider (e.g., your Google account if you enabled personalised advertising). This way, actions on different devices can be attributed to you as a unique user, allowing targeted ads.
When you visit the relevant search engines or other websites that participate in the same advertising network, information about your use of the search engine or other website may be collected and added to your device-related profile (if applicable, depending on your consent to the respective website operator) to enable better personalisation and optimisation of the display of various advertisements.
Based on the information stored in your device-related profile, we and the provider of the respective remarketing tool we use can personalise our ads specifically for you.
Based on the information stored in your device-related profile, the provider of the remarketing tool we use also determines billing-relevant factors for the ad placement to be able to invoice us for its services.
We are jointly responsible with the respective marketing technology provider for the use of these technologies on our website. Any further processing of data by the provider for its own purposes or for the purposes of third parties is the sole responsibility of the provider. Information on joint responsibility and the privacy policies of the various providers is available below.

| Conversion tracking: "Conversions" are user activities on our website that we define. Conversion tracking is a process that records what happens after you have seen our ads in search engines or on other websites, or after you have interacted with our ads in search engines or on other websites. This allows us, for example, to see if you subsequently performed a specific action on our website. When our ads are shown to you in search engines or on other websites, or when you interact with our ads, information about this may be collected (possibly depending on your consent to the respective website operator) and stored in a device-related profile. To associate this information with your device, a unique ID may be assigned to your device (possibly depending on your consent to the respective website operator), which is linked to the device-related profile. This ID may (where applicable, depending on your consent to the respective website operator) be stored in cookies (Section C) on your device. When you subsequently visit our website, the information stored in these cookies can be read. This allows your device to be recognized using the ID, and the information stored in the device-related profile about your visit to our ads can be retrieved and further data stored using this ID. This enables us to collect information about the use of our website, in particular the "conversions" you initiate. Such attribution can also be made by matching hashed contact information instead of the ID or, if applicable, via a link to your account with the respective provider (e.g., your Google account if you have enabled personalized advertising). In this way, the provider of the remarketing tool we use can present our ads to you in a targeted manner. Such an association can also be made by matching hashed contact information instead of the ID, or possibly via a link to your account with the respective provider (e.g., your Google account if you have enabled personalized advertising). This allows actions you perform on different devices to be attributed to you as a unique user. We also reserve the right to use your data to assert or defend against legal claims. Furthermore, in accordance with applicable law, we reserve the right to store and disclose personal and other data as necessary to detect and combat illegal activities, fraudulent activity, or violations of NMi TESTLAB's Terms of Use.
E. Secure communication on the Internet
We strive to transmit and store your personal data in a way that prevents third-party access by implementing technical and organisational measures.
However, the internet is generally considered an insecure medium. Unlike, for example, a telephone line, data transmitted over the internet can be more easily intercepted, recorded, or even altered by unauthorised third parties. To ensure the confidentiality of our communication with you, we use 256-bit AES SSL/TLS encryption on our website. Based on current knowledge, this encryption method is considered secure. Modern operating systems and browsers support this level of security; you may need to update your operating system and browser to take advantage of it.
Complete data security cannot be guaranteed when communicating via unencrypted email, so we recommend using postal mail for confidential information.
F. Updating this privacy policy
As NMi TESTLAB GmbH introduces new products or services, changes its internet procedures, or as internet and IT security technology evolves, the privacy policy will need to be updated. We therefore reserve the right to amend or supplement this policy as needed. We will publish any changes here.
G. Right to information / Deletion and modification of personal data
If you have any questions that these privacy notices have not answered, or if you would like more detailed information on any point, please feel free to contact us.
Should you no longer consent to the storage of your personal data, or should it become inaccurate, we will, upon your request and in accordance with applicable laws, arrange for the correction, blocking, or deletion of your data. Upon request, you will receive information about the personal data we have stored about you. Please contact us for this purpose:
